Protect yourself. Some tips to avoid identity theft and scams

Some tips to protect yourself from internet fraud. 

We want you to be aware of Phishing Scams. Whether it be from email, phone, in person or websites.

Firstly, when looking for items online please be safe and use your discretion. At Servpro.ca we are trying our best to ensure the quality of our site, however fraud on the Internet is an increasing problem.

Avoid scams and fraud by dealing locally! Beware of any deal involving Western Union, Moneygram, wire transfer, cashier check, money order, shipping, escrow, or any promise of transaction protection/certification/guarantee.

Never send money or give credit card numbers via mail, email or phone. Deal locally and purchase items within your city only.

Please be aware.

Servpro.ca staff does NOT ask for any payment in means of debit card/cheques/cash or any means at all over the phone , or any type of payment in person or by mail.

If you encounter a suspicious email or phone call that claims affiliation with Servpro.ca advertising, please report it to us immediately.

Contact your credit card or bank immediately if you feel you have been a victim of fraud.
Warning signs
High pressure, aggressive or threatening telemarketers who want you to contribute/purchase immediately.

What you can do
If you receive a telephone call, tell them to send you the information in writing. Or tell them you are not interested at this time and do your research.

Never give personal information such as passwords or credit card information over the phone.

Telephone Fraud, Customers Beware

It has come to our attention that fraudulent phone calls are being made to our online clients.
Suspects are requesting payment for online advertising on our website over the phone.

Please be aware.

Servpro.ca staff does not take credit card information over the phone.
Servpro.ca staff does not ask for any payment in means of debit card/cheques/cash or any means at all over the phone.
